Founded officially in 1965 as Takamatsu Gumi, the company changed its name to Takamatsu Construction Corporation. in 1990. The company went public and was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2000. In the same year, Komatsu Construction Industry Co. (later named Asunaro Construction Co.) joined the group under Takamatsu Construction Corporation’s first merger and acquisition.
Takamatsu Construction Co., Ltd. split into its holding company Takamatsu Construction Group, and the operating company Takamatsu Corporation in 2008.
In 2017, Takamatsu Construction Group commemorated the centennial of its first operations in Japan. In the same year, Takamatsu Construction Group USA was established as the group’s first overseas operation based in New York City.
Transitioned from the First Section to the Prime Market following the restructuring of the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s market classifications in 2022.
The group has grown to include 19 subsidiary companies with nearly 5,000 employees. Among the major general contractors in Japan, Takamatsu Construction Group boasts a robust cashflow business model with annual revenue of $2.1 billion ($1.00=¥150 as March 2024).
